Beauty and best Hope of Earth, Jowhar, Somalia.

(JOWHAR): formerly Villaggio Duca degli Abruzzi,  is the capital town of the Middle Shebelle region of Somalia. The town lies 90 km along a major road north of the national capital of Mogadishu.
As already stated, the Duca degli Abruzzi, founded the Villaggio Duca degli Abruzzi in 1920 as an agricultural settlement in Italian Somali experimenting with new cultivation techniques. In 1926, the colony comprised 16 villages, with some 3,000 Somali and 200 Italian inhabitants.

From 1911 in Jowhar, Italians like the Duca degli Abruzzi,  started to take the local farmers and resettle them in specific new villages in an attempt to improve the economy of Italian Somalia. The area around the Villaggio Duca degli Abruzzi (Jowhar), was the most agriculturally developed of Somalia and had some food industries.
At independence, the vacuum created by the outgoing Italians was not filled by the new Somali élites in charge, as the latter deemed the cattle trade and urban assets more profitable.
Jowhar changed name from the Italian Villaggio Duca degli Abruzzi to the actual name in 1960, when Somalia gained its independence.
The Italians, who believed in the economic potential of the region, also built a Rail way system that linked Jowhar to Mogadishu, and was used mainly to export bananas and coffee to Europe.

That was an historical railway system that ran through southern Somalia. It was constructed between 1914 and 1927 by the colonial authorities in Italian Somalia. The railway connected the capital city Mogadishu with Afgoye, and subsequently with Jowhar.
In 1969, such a fertile land was nationalized and was only available to cultivators through fifty years leases. The government (Regime Barre) fixed the prices of agricultural products and could purchase up to 80% of the harvests.
Plans for re-establishing the railway were tabled in the 1980s by the Siad Barre administration, but were aborted after the regime's collapse.
As part of the former Benadir region, Middle Shabelle's capital was Mogadishu up until the mid-1980s, when the town of Jowhar became the capital. It is named after the Shabelle river, that passes through this region.
Shabelle Secondary school was the most popular Boarding School for boys and coeducation day school. Now Shabelle School is Village, where Families live, Named "Mishinka".

As part of a 2004 agreement, Jowhar was designated to be the administrative capital of the Transitional Federal Government, sited away from Mogadishu for security reasons. In July 2005, President Adullahi Yusuf Ahmed, relocated to the town from his base in Bosaso, moving the process forward and joining Prime Minister Ali Mohamed Gedi, who had already been resident in the town for a month. Part of the parliament became based in Jowhar. February 2006, despite Ghedi's security concerns, the two leaders had left to Baidoa, where it was decided the parliament would convene.
Islamic Court Union Captured the town, While On December 27, 2006, the internationally backed transitional government forces, united with Ethiopian troops, Recaptured Jowhar from the Islamic Court Union.

On May 17, 2009, the Islamist Al-shabab took the town, around 4 years of ruling before December 9, 2012, when Somali National Army forces assisted by AMISOM troops re-captured the city.
Jowhar, has also extensive arable land which is very suitable for cultivating , residents produce various types of crops and fruits, as popular "Rise" and Mango trees, as well as Animal Husbandry.  That was the beauty and hope of land.
